JOB DUTIES: Plant Health Care Technician performs fertilization and integrated pest management on tree and shrubs using spray and injection tools. Customer service is a key element of the position, as well as routing, product mixing and application. Tree and shrub ID, Pathology, and knowledge of tree physiology are valuable but not required, we will train you on all aspects of the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Any degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture or related discipline a plus, but not required. 
  • Ability to identify local tree species and knowledge of growth rates. 
  • ISA Certified Arborist a plus as is related past experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority. 
  • Valid driver’s license (Class DZ License is an asset). 
  • Certified applicators license a plus where applicable.

  • Valid and clean Drivers License G or DZ
  • First Aid
  • WHIMIS
  • IHSA MTO book 7
  • Be willing to sign up as a sponsored apprentice with Arborwood.
  • Full time hourly position is possible.
